Winter wonderland!

I thought that winter was over, but I guess it isn't in Prince Rupert. The snow is falling and it isn't stopping. Maybe it will be a snow day tomorrow. Here's hoping!

If it wasn't March this would be beautiful. Now it's just inconvienent. But the dogs are loving it.

Pretty Persistence

Here is a snapshot of my kitty Persistence. She is looking quite attractive here. Unfortunately I have had to shave parts of her. She managed to get some matts on her back due to the fact that she is too fat to properly groom herself. She is also unable to groom herself in other, more private areas, so I had to shave her bum. She didn't mind the electric shaver on her back, she thought is was a massage. She did not enjoy the other shaving, and frankly I didn not find it all that enjoyable either. Thankfully she doesn't seem vain in any sense of the word and doesn't hate me.

Spring Break is Over!!!!!

I am very sad that Spring Break is over. During my week of relaxation I went to Terrace. I brought my new camera to test it out. Here is a picture that I took. It wasn't the sunniest of days as you can see.

You are a Self-Discoverer

You're not religious, but you've created your own kind of spirituality.
Introspective and thoughtful, you tend to look inward for the divine.
You are distrusting of all forms of organized religion.
You especially dislike religious gurus and leaders, who you feel are charlatans.

Obscure Pictures From Prince Rupert

Spring juxtaposed with winter. Only in Prince Rupert can this happen. Now where in Prince Rupert did I get this picture? Well, I didn't have to stoop to take this photo.

I give up!!!! The picture won't post. I'll try later.
Yes, it has been 2 months since my last blog update, but considering a grand total of 3 people view my blog regularly, and they all see each other regularly, what's the point? Okay, so I figured I need to have a theme. There are many blogs out there with themes, so I figured this is what I need to do. Theme!!!!!!!!!!!!

So here's my theme. Random images from Prince Rupert. I'll leave clues to where I took the pictures. I was trying to upload a picture but it wasn't working. I will post this and try again later.

My Favorite Place

This is my favorite place in the world. Personally I think it is because I was Mary Queen of Scots in a past life. This may explain why I am still single. It is karma working in its strange ways. Hopefully I won't be executed in this life.

Merry Christmas

Well, I have returned from Kamloops, no worse for wear. I managed to avoid all back handed complements, which was great. The dogs enjoyed the time with their "grandma" and "uncle". It is nice to come home though. Although my mother's house is always relaxing, it is nice to be in my own home. I hit Chapters only twice, and only went to Fabricland once. This is almost unheard of for me.

I stayed away from Chapters only because I got quite the haul of books for Christmas. No useless decorative items for me!!!!! I wish I could do more reading so I can devour all the books that I got in an instant! But no...I am still working on The Way the Crow Flies by Ann-Marie MacDonald. It is very disturbing, but that is why I picked it up. It takes place in 1962 Centralia, Ontario. That is the other reason why I picked it up, my father at one point in his life as an air force brat lived in Centralia. It is written in the third person and changes perspective often. The main character is Madeline McCarthy, but it often switches to her father Jack or her mother Mimi. It deals with some heavy topics. I am not sure I would recommend this book to just anybody. You need to have a strong constitution to read it, so don't pick it up if you can't handle the heavy topics. Although I don't know why I am bothering with this warning, there are only 3 people that read my blog and they have probably read it already.

Well here's another picture of my babies. Finnegan is getting so big, he is looking more like a big mop everyday.

Finally, An Update

Okay, okay, I haven't updated my blog in a while. It's not like I have a life or anything. I am busy with a new addition to my little family. Yes, that's right. I have adopted a new puppy. His name is Finnigan. Casey is esstatic because finally there is someone, other than myself, to play with. Their antics are so cute! Finnigan is constantly crawling all over Casey, and she just lets him. Thankfully I am planning on replacing the carpet with lamenent flooring in the spring, so I am not too worried about the house training issue. Anyways, here's a picture of the puppy. Enjoy!

A Day in the life of Froggy

Hi there my name is Froggy and I am the favorite toy of Casey the dog. It is not only hard being green, but it is not easy being a chew toy either.

I spend a great deal of time in peace and contemplation in some remote corner of the house, thankfully ignored by two highly strung felines. It is boring, to say the least, when I am in these forgotten places and sometimes I want the dog to remember my existence. Then suddenly I am pounced on, out of nowhere! My inner peace suddenly disturbed. It is at these moments when I long for those boring hours of being ignored.

You wouldn't understand the torture involved in being a chew toy. Being suddenly taken unawares not withstanding, my body is then chewed on, over and over. The squeeks from my body just encourage the dog to continue her torture of me. Then I feel my body being ripped and tugged upon as the human grabs my rubbery body from the jaws of the slobbering mongrel. I think, for brief moments, that I am saved. Finally someone sees my value and wants me. Then suddenly I feel my green body sailing through the air and then I am bouncing with no purpose. Randomly I tumble. Maybe I am safe. NOooooooooo! I am again in the jaws of Casey. The whole process repeats, over and over, and I am getting wetter and wetter. This is so disgusting! Do I get Workers Comp for this torture?

Finally they have forgotten about me, and I am again forgotten. Ahhhh peace and quiet. At least for a little bit.

Clymont Park Trail

Another sunny day in Prince Rupert. Who would have thought that this could happen in Prince Rupert? I just had to take advantage of it. Besides, I couldn't take pictures of my adventure of being lost in the Extew area. These will have to do.

Persistence's Journal

My life is so rough!

At 4:45 am I am so hungry that I am aroused from a sound sleep. Now, I am faced with a dilema; how to wake Mum. If I start squawking, Mum will just lock me out of the room, and I won't eat for hours and hours. That will not do at all. I have to call in reinforcements, unfortunately that means talking to that dumb mutt. Well, its the only way. Mum always wakes up if that dog whines. "Hey dog! Don't you have to go outside?"

That was too easy. But at least I am fed. Now to visit the facilities, then fall back into that deep sleep.

Hey! It's Saturday. Why is that beeping going on? Oh no! Mum is getting up. Maybe if I stay quiet (yes it's hard) she won't notice me under these blankets. Uh oh, she's noticed me. Aaagh! She's picking me up. I hate that. She knows that. Oh well, I guess I could use a snack, hopefully my sister hasn't eaten all the leftovers. Really! She doesn't need it as much as I do. Can't she see I am wasting away here?

Hey where did Mum go? She was just here. That's okay, it seems that she took that stupid, slobbering mutt with her. All the better for me. I think I will sleep on the couch and soak up some of this sun.

I must have been asleep for some time. There are sounds coming up the steps. It must be Mum. I have to be right there at the door for her. Oh Crap! The dog is with her. Ahhh, run! Run! Why doesn't that dog realize I hate her. Dumb animal.

Oh my gosh! I am so hungry. Hey! Mum, where are you going? Why aren't you taking the mutt with you? Wait a minute, you haven't fed me yet. Stop! Don't go!

Finally, Mum is home. She can feed me. I think I have to use some of my persuasive powers. I'll try following her around a bit.

No luck. I'll try some head butting. Maybe I can move her by force. I am starting to get a headache, but my hunger is far more important.

It's not working! Okay, now for the last straw. I'll sit by my dish and squawk.

Yes! It worked! I have been fed. Of course I had to wait for Maggie to finish first, but "age before beauty"! Now it's time for a good grooming and a nap. When is Mum going to bed? Why is she typing on that machine? She should really pay more attention to me.

It's all about me.

My Song

100 Years by Five for Fighting

"Every day's a new day...
15 there's still time for you
Time to buy and time to choose
Hey 15, there's never a wish better than this
When you only got 100 years to live"

2004 was about thinking and reflecting - but isn't every year?
