Merry Christmas
Well, I have returned from Kamloops, no worse for wear. I managed to avoid all back handed complements, which was great. The dogs enjoyed the time with their "grandma" and "uncle". It is nice to come home though. Although my mother's house is always relaxing, it is nice to be in my own home. I hit Chapters only twice, and only went to Fabricland once. This is almost unheard of for me.
I stayed away from Chapters only because I got quite the haul of books for Christmas. No useless decorative items for me!!!!! I wish I could do more reading so I can devour all the books that I got in an instant! But no...I am still working on The Way the Crow Flies by Ann-Marie MacDonald. It is very disturbing, but that is why I picked it up. It takes place in 1962 Centralia, Ontario. That is the other reason why I picked it up, my father at one point in his life as an air force brat lived in Centralia. It is written in the third person and changes perspective often. The main character is Madeline McCarthy, but it often switches to her father Jack or her mother Mimi. It deals with some heavy topics. I am not sure I would recommend this book to just anybody. You need to have a strong constitution to read it, so don't pick it up if you can't handle the heavy topics. Although I don't know why I am bothering with this warning, there are only 3 people that read my blog and they have probably read it already.
Well here's another picture of my babies. Finnegan is getting so big, he is looking more like a big mop everyday.
