More Quilts

It was a very good day to stay in and finish some of my quilts. It was rainy and misty all day. I managed to finish 3 today. Of course when I was taking pictures of the finished product, Casey had to be part of the action. Don't you just love dogs?

I am not sure if I like the red one. It seems rather plain, or odd or something. I don't know. Oh well, if I don't like it, maybe someone else might.

If it is rainy tomorrow, I am going to finish a couple of quilts and maybe curl up and continue reading Breath of Snow and Ashes. It is the sixth in the Outlander series. I love this series. This is one series I hope they do not make into a movie. They just couldn't do it justice in my opinion, and they would destroy my mental picture of Jamie Fraser. I always wonder if time travel is actually possible, and if the major inventions of our time have been made by time travellers. I don't know, it is just interesting to think that what we may consider impossible could actually be possible. This is probably the role of fiction in the first place. To make us think that impossibilities are possible. Ahhh....isn't life grand!?

The Kermode Bears

I have to share these pictures of these Kermode bear statues. I could only find two in Prince Rupert. I think they are amazing. The top one is at the BC Ferries terminal and the bottom one is in front of the Crest.

I continue to look for the unique things that make Prince Rupert interesting. There is so much in this town. It continues to delight me, and keeps me living here. I regularly say, "Only in Prince Rupert..."

For example, this was outside my house this morning...

At first I just saw the mommy deer, but then the two babies strolled behind her. This picture really doesn't show them that well, but they were so cute. The babies still had the white spots on them. I was slightly worried that a car was going to come tearing around the corner and hit one of the babies, but thankfully it didn't happen. Now I just hope they don't get into my garden.

A Beautiful Day in Prince Rupert

It is a beautiful day today in Prince Rupert. I went down to the waterfront to take some pictures. It is strange, on some days you can't smell the ocean, but today you could. It was so refreshing! It felt fresh and clean, and the sun was so warm. I am so thankful to live here.

My quilting projects

Well I just finished two baby quilts and thought I would share them with everyone. I have been spending most of my summer vacation thus far working on quilts for everyone who has recently had a baby or is expecting one in the near future. It came to a total of six. Then I got carried away and ended up with many more than six. Right now the total is 22, but I still have the bindings to finish on the remaining 20. I plan to do those while I am in Kamloops and seperated from my sewing machine.

This is also the summer I got a new car. A Pontiac Vibe. I love it so much. It will be so great with the dog.
Prince Rupert weather continues to baffle me. While the rest of the province is in a heat wave, the only heat wave here is from my furnace. Yes, that's right ladies and gentlemen, the furnace is currently running. I can't believe it! Lets hope for better weather tomorrow!

I Envy the Cat

You know, my cats have the life. I look at them sleeping and it really gets to me. You can learn a lot from a cat. For instance, always take a nap, preferably in a warm sunny place. Always land on your feet if you fall. Enjoy your food. Stand up for what is yours. Enjoy a good massage. Never let the little things bother you. Always enjoy playing, especially with a little ball of fluff.

Just some stuff I learned from my cat.
